Jura Limestone is not only a completely natural product, it also contains evidence of the natural world as it was in the Mesozoic age approximately 150 million years ago. During this period countless animals and plants sank to the ground of the ancient Tethys Ocean and became fossilised in the carbonate mud on the ocean floor, which over time has turned into the Jura Limestone that is quarried today and made into the tiles that we at Simply Stone supply. Jura Limestone is a sedimentary rock composed primarily of calcium carbonate with admixes of metal oxides and earth colours and this is what gives the colouring to this stone that makes it so unique.
